Inception Workshop of Horticool Project


At Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), the Inception Workshop on DBBL-CSR-GraTA Funded Project "Cold Storage Solution for Reducing Post-harvest Losses of Fruits and Vegetables in Bangladesh" came to a fruitful and successful End. The Inception Workshop marked an important milestone in the pursuit of technological improvements and agricultural innovation in Bangladesh. The workshop, which was held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, in the Syed Nazrul Islam Conference Hall of BAU in Mymensingh, presented innovative idea that had received funding and assistance from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, DBBL-CSR-GraTA, of Dutch Bangla Bank Limited.

 

Professor Dr. Chayan Kumer Saha, Department of Farm Power and Machinery, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, gave a presentation entitled "Cold Storage Solution for Reducing Post-harvest Losses of Fruits and Vegetables in Bangladesh."

 

The event was honored to have Mr. Abul Kashem Md. Shirin, the Managing Director & CER of Dutch Bangla Bank Limited, in attendance. He served as the Chief Guest for the occasion. The celebration was graced by his presence. The Chief Patron of the workshop was Professor Dr. Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, the Honorable Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University. This high-profile patronage helped the workshop garner a lot of attention. The event was further enlivened by the participation of esteemed individuals, such as Professor Dr. Md. Abul Mansur, Convenor of the Dean Council, BAU, and Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Awal, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science. Dr. Engr. Md. Abdur Razzaque Akanda, Program Coordinator of the DBBL-CSR-GraTA Secretariat, Dutch Bangla Bank Ltd., Dhaka, attended as Special Guests.

 

Professor Dr. Md. Monjurul Alam, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology at BAU, presided over the workshop as its chairman and provided expert direction throughout the workshop.

 

 

The fact that BAU and its researchers and industry partners were able to bring this Inception Workshop to a fruitful end demonstrates their dedication to the cause of promoting innovation and forward movement in the sphere of agriculture. Participants had a clearer awareness of the cutting-edge research that was being undertaken and the potential influence that these initiatives could have on the agricultural landscape of Bangladesh after leaving the event.
