Professors never retire. However, today (August 27, 2023) was the last official working day of our Hon’ble teacher Professor Dr. Md. Monjurul  Alam sir - the pioneer of modern agricultural mechanization in Bangladesh. He is simultaneously a philosopher, teacher, dreamer, researcher, innovator, policy maker, diplomat, leader and a motivator. He is an inspiration for the entire community of agricultural engineers. Agricultural engineers have learnt how to dream bigger for the betterment of country and world from his classes. He always emphasizes on the freedom of people. His innovations (BAU-STR Dryer, BAU Recirculating Paddy Dryer, Single Shed Service Point Model, Technology Park, CA Park, Youth platform SAIYN, Agricultural Mechanization Policy, Agricultural Mechanization Road Map, Testing Procedure of agricultural machines) and contribution in achieving food security of Bangladesh are well known to all. Absolutely he is an icon in the realm of agricultural engineering both home and abroad. We pray for our Professor’s good health and long life. We the student of him are always ready to learn from him.
